Foynes Flying Boat Museum
The Foynes Flying Boat Museum recalls the period of the 1930’s and early 1940’s when Foynes was the fulcrum point for air traffic between Europe and America and flying boats were regular visitors with exhibits, illustrations and audio-visuals. The museum houses the original terminal building, radio and weather room with original transmitters receivers and Morse Code equipment and a 1940’s style cinema to bring to life the first transatlantic passenger service and Foynes during the Emergency. Also available are a 1940’s style tea-room, a souvenir shop and a Tourist Information Point.
